CBD is one of many naturally occurring chemical compounds (or cannabinoids) found in the cannabis sativa plant. Surprisingly, there are over 100 different kinds of identified cannabinoids in the cannabis sativa plant!

Interestingly enough, CBD is not an acronym! The three letters are simply short for the word cannabidiol.

CBD comes from the cannabis sativa plant. But the CBD we’re talking about here is hemp-derived... meaning it comes from the hemp of the cannabis sativa – not the marijuana. Hemp and marijuana both come from the same plant (cannabis), but are different strains. Which means different characteristics. The most critical one? Hemp won’t get you high, whereas marijuana will.

Yes! CBD is legal in all 50 States. Per the 2018 Farm Bill, all hemp-derived CBD products were made federally legal.

That’s hemp-derived CBD – not marijuana-derived CBD. Hemp-derived CBD contains less than 0.3% THC. At levels so low, you won’t get high from it.

However, marijuana-derived CBD will contain levels greater than 0.3% THC, which can get you into some trouble if the are not medical or recreational marijuana laws in your state. Marijuana is not currently legal at the federal level.

To protect your own wellness, be sure to only shop for CBD products that are not only 100% legal and hemp-derived, but that are third party verified.

With a third party test, you’ll know each and every ingredient in your CBD product, including the strength of CBD, flavors, and so on. It’ll also tell you if what you bought is actually real CBD!
